Big Bear – Skyline Loop

Home1 / Routes2 / Big Bear – Skyline Loop

This is a really sweet, perfect GS ride that has it all. Lots of twisties on Hwy 330 and 38. (Highway 18 and Rim of the World is a longer option). For a perfect day, add some dirt by heading over toward Moonridge Zoo and run FR2N10 (Skyline Dr). It is a relatively easy fire road, but sometimes a little congested with Mountain Bikers, so take it easy and enjoy the epic alpine scenery of Big Bear and a few tremendous vistas of Big Bear Lake.

If you only do one ride on an Adventure bike, this is the one that will make you and addict. Be forewarned!

Eating options abound in Big Bear. We like The Pines Restaurant for great scenery and Grizzly’s Bear Belly Deli for a quick sandwich.

If you want to add something more difficult, take Clark’s Grade or Wildrose Canyon Rd down to Highway 38.

Important Note About The Routes:

We have made our best efforts to supply informative routes. PLEASE USE YOUR DISCRETION and JUDGEMENT. Conditions change rapidly and can vary significantly for each ride due to weather, fire, daylight/time of year, road construction, and many other variables. There is no substitute for your personal judgement. Only you know your capabilities, physical condition on the day of the ride, and the preparation, condition, and capability of your motorcycle.

For these reasons, BMW MoR always “pre-rides” a given route for our shop rides even if we have done that ride many times before. The very definition of Adventure riding involves managing your body (physical and emotional) and your motorcycles mechanical condition while enjoying the adventure. Be prepared and make good decisions on whether to turn around or skip sections of rides as conditions warrant.

Use these tracks and routes as a planning tool to add or subtract or modify to your suit your time, abilities, and environmental conditions.
